X-ray Absorption Fine Structure (XAFS), also known as X-ray Absorption Spectroscopy (XAS), is a powerful technique based on synchrotron radiation sources used to investigate the local atomic or electronic structure of materials. It is widely applied in fields such as catalysis, energy, and nanotechnology and offers the following advantages:

1. Independent of long-range ordered structures, making it suitable for studying amorphous materials.

2. Free from interference from other elements, allowing separate analysis of different elements within the same material.

3. Unaffected by sample state, enabling measurements of solids (crystals, powders), liquids (solutions, molten states), and gases.

4. Non-destructive to samples, allowing for in-situ testing.

5. Capable of obtaining high-precision structural parameters, such as the type of coordinating atoms, coordination number, and interatomic distances, with interatomic distance accuracy generally reaching 0.01 Å.
