State of the Art of Lithium Battery Research: Market Outlook and Research Reviews
Posted by MSE Supplies on
Lithium battery is no doubt a hot subject these days. The recent Battery Show held in Novi, MI on Sept. 15-17, 2015 featured speakers from battery companies, consumer electronics companies to automotive companies, which have all been investing heavily in the development of the next generation high performance Lithium batteries.
While the 228th ECS Meeting is being held in Phoenix this week (Oct. 11-15, 2015), ECS published a collection of 21 review papers to highlight the state of the art of Lithium battery technology and its commercial applications.

The field of advanced batteries is highly dynamic and important. The development and commercialization of Li ion batteries can be considered as one of the most important successes of modern electrochemistry. This battery technology is now challenged to power electric vehicles. The requirements of high energy density drive intensive work on novel battery systems, beyond Li ion technology (Li-sulfur, metal-oxygen batteries and more).
JES has published a special collection of papers on advanced batteries and related research efforts.
Twenty-one experts in the field were asked by JES to write review/opinion papers on topics related to advanced battery research. This collection of papers is believed to provide readers an important update and guidelines for further studies and development work.
