Glow-Wire Testing Analytical Service
SKU: GWT001
Overview
The Glow-Wire Test is a safety testing technique used to evaluate the flammability and ignition resistance of materials when exposed to high temperatures. It simulates the effect of a glowing electrical wire or overheated component coming into contact with a material. A heated wire, typically at temperatures between 550°C and 960°C, is applied to the test sample under controlled conditions. The test measures whether the material ignites, how long it burns, and whether flaming drips occur, making it essential for assessing fire hazards in electrical and electronic components.
