Laser Ablation-Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (LA-ICP-MS) Analytical Service

LA-ICP-MS utilizes a powerful laser beam to remove material from the surface of a sample. The interaction between the laser and the sample surface results in the heating, evaporation, and ionization of the sample material, a process known as laser ablation. The generated particles and ion plume are then transported into the ICP-MS system through a steady carrier gas flow.

The sample material is subsequently ionized in the inductively coupled plasma, where its atomic species are transferred in ionized form and separated and analyzed based on their mass-to-charge ratio over time.

Reservation Notes:

• Sample requirement: Bulk materials and thin films are acceptable; sample thickness should not exceed 15 mm, and the length and width should not exceed 10 × 10 cm.
• Testing elements: Only selected element can be detected

Analytical Service Minimum order requirement: $250 per order. A $200 handling fee will be applied if order is below $250.
