MSE PRO 100mL Hydrothermal Reactor with Stepped Vessel Configuration
SKU: LS2776
MSE PRO™ 100mL Hydrothermal Reactor with Stepped Vessel Configuration
The MSE PRO™ Hydrothermal Reactor with Stepped Vessel Configuration is a high-pressure digestion system designed for use in ovens, ideal for sample preparation in trace and ultra-trace elemental analysis. It creates a sealed, high-temperature, high-pressure environment using strong acids or bases to rapidly digest otherwise insoluble substances, such as heavy metals, pesticide residues, food, sludge, rare earths, aquatic products, and organic matter.
Featuring an innovative stepped-positioning PTFE liner, the design minimizes “cold flow” deformation after high-temperature cooling, preventing volume shrinkage and extending liner life. The reactor is precision-machined from non-magnetic ASIS 321 stainless steel, with a corrosion-resistant double-layer PTFE lining, and supports a maximum temperature of 260°C and pressure up to 3 MPa. With its sleek design, structural integrity, and ease of use, it is ideal for university labs, environmental monitoring, public health, and quality inspection applications.
A complete hydrothermal reactor set includes a stainless steel outer shell and a PTFE liner. The PTFE liner is also available for separate purchase.

Precautions for Using a Hydrothermal Reactor
-
Check Vapor Pressure Before Use
Before operating the hydrothermal reactor, carefully review the saturated vapor pressure of the solvent at the intended reaction temperature. Ensure it does not exceed the reactor’s maximum allowable operating pressure. -
Avoid Over-tightening During Initial Use
When using the HTG/HTS series hydrothermal reactors, avoid over-tightening the reactor lid or top screws during the initial use. The PTFE liner inside the vessel has some compressibility under high temperature and pressure. Excessive tightening may lead to deformation of the liner due to thermal expansion. -
Lubricate Threads Above 150°C
When operating at temperatures above 150°C, it is recommended to apply a layer of high-temperature lithium-based grease to the threads before tightening the lid. This helps prevent thread galling (seizing) under heat. For models with silver-plated threads, lubrication is not necessary. -
Do Not Use the Reactor Under the Following Conditions:
a. The solvent has a boiling point below 60°C (e.g., diethyl ether, acetone, dichloromethane, etc.);
b. The reaction generates a large volume of gas;
c. The materials involved are flammable, explosive, or classified as extremely or highly hazardous.
