The MSE PRO™ Aldolase, also known as fructose diphosphate lyase, is involved in gluconeogenesis, the Calvin cycle, and glycolysis. Aldolase is a class I aldolase that forms a covalent Schiff base intermediate. The active site of aldolase is located at the center of the alpha/beta barrel fold.

Applications:
Aldolase is used to convert fructose 1,6-bisphosphate to dihydroxyacetone phosphate and glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate. Is used for stereospecific deprotonation of DHAP C3. Aldolase (ALD) is found in a wide variety of tissues and is used clinically primarily to diagnose hepatic and muscular lesions.
