MSE PRO™ Carboxypeptidase B
The MSE PRO™ Carboxypeptidase B catalyzes the hydrolysis of the C-terminal basic amino acids lysine, arginine and ornithine from peptides. The molecular weight is 34,500 daltons, the optimum pH is 7.9, and the pI is 6.0. Carboxypeptidase B is competitively inhibited by arginine, lysine, and ornithine. The enzyme is not inhibited by diisopropyl fluorophosphate (DFP) but is inhibited by metal chelators such as 1,10-phenanthroline.

Applications:
Used to assess the effect of C-terminal lysine in the binding of human fibrinogen to bifidobacteria. Used to analyze and test the effect of treatment with carboxypeptidase B, a C-terminal lysine-specific endopeptidase, using flow cytometry. Was used to identify new potential biomarkers for acute pancreatitis.
