The MSE PRO™ Catalase is an important antioxidant enzyme that catalyzes the decomposition of hydrogen peroxide into water and oxygen and activates the breakdown of hydrogen peroxide. Catalase plays an important role in scavenging reactive oxygen species and maintaining the balance of redox state. As a natural antioxidant it can be used to study the role of reactive oxygen species in gene expression and apoptosis.
