MSE PRO™ Myoglobin
The MSE PRO™ Myoglobin is a small globular protein that is the oxygen-storing protein in mammalian muscle, and is particularly abundant in diving mammal muscle, giving it a brown color. It is found mainly in the cytoplasm of skeletal and cardiac muscle cells, and to a lesser extent in the thyroid and thymus glands, and is responsible for oxygen storage in the heart and skeletal muscle. It contains a single heme molecule with a molecular weight of about 17 kDa.
