Applications:

Solid Oxide Fuel Cells (SOFCs), are capable of converting chemical reactions directly into electrical energy. Popular anode materials for SOFCs include nickel or its oxide combined with a solid electrolyte made of cerium or zirconium dioxide doped with rare earth elements like yttrium or scandium. One such material, NiO-SDC, has superior ionic conductivity and chemical resistance to carbonization when using fuels such as methane and hydrocarbons.
