MSE PRO™ Superoxide Dismutase
The MSE PRO™ Superoxide dismutase (SOD) catalyzes the scavenging of O2 free radicals. This enzyme protects oxygen metabolizing cells from the harmful effects of superoxide radicals. Superoxide dismutase is inactivated by H2O2. It consists of two subunits of the same molecular weight linked by a disulfide bond. The molecular weight is 32,500 daltons, with two copper(II) and two zinc(II) atoms in each molecule. The isoelectric point of the enzyme is 4.95.
